As of May 2018, the rules regarding the use of personal data have been tightened due to a new privacy legislation. This also applies to the use of photos and videos of participants in L.A.R.P. Therefore, we have outlined a few points to clarify the use of images by Booyah!:

  • Photos and videos are taken during Booyah! events. These are made by the organization or professional photographers;
  • We take photos and videos because we genuinely enjoy seeing the participants’ joy, and we notice that participants appreciate this as well. A selection of the photos and videos may be shared on social media, such as Facebook and Instagram, and on the Booyah! website;
  • Registration for a Booyah! event automatically grants permission for Booyah! to take photos and/or videos that include the participant. No compensation is provided for this;
  • If a participant indicates during registration—in the comments section—or after registration (but at least prior to the event) that they do not wish to appear in photos and videos, Booyah! will respect this by informing the photographers;
  • If, despite this, a participant still appears in a photo or video, or if you wish to object to the published images for any other reason, you can do so by sending an email to the photographer or booyah-larp@gmail.com. The relevant images will then be removed as soon as possible;
  • You are always allowed to save photos taken at an event for personal use.

Please note: not everyone appreciates their photo suddenly appearing on social media. Keep this in mind before posting photos that also include others and ask them in advance. Photos are and remain the property of the photographer. It is not permitted to use photographic material for purposes other than those described above without prior written consent from the photographer.
